Job summary

Katzen Eye Group in Lutherville, MD is seeking a patient-focused Optometric Technician for our Lutherville office, with the option to float to nearby locations. This role offers no late evenings, no major holidays or Sundays, and a robust benefits package.

You will assist the Optometrist by documenting patient information in the Electronic Health Record, taking ocular measurements, and administering treatments as ordered by the physician.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in an optometric workup.
• Willing to travel to other offices occasionally.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well-organized, team player with great attention to detail.
• Superior computer skills.
• Energetic with positive attitude.
• Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
• Must be able to type or write legibly in a dimly lit setting.

Responsibilities

• Initial work up of patients such as gathering chief complaint, ocular and systemic history, past family and social history and complete review of systems.
• Measuring visual acuities, intraocular pressures, confrontational fields, EOMS, and more.
• Performing external slit lamp examination and administering eye drops.
• Scribe in electronic medical records format to document the patient visit and examination.
• Assist with stocking supplies, ensuring cleanliness of patient exams room and other administrative or clinical duties as assigned.

Katzen Eye Group is seeking an Optometric Technician for our Lutherville, MD. office and ability to float to our Lutherville location as needed. An Optometric Technician is responsible for assisting the Optometrist by documenting patient information into the Electronic Health Record as well as taking ocular measurements and administering treatment as allowed and ordered by the physician.

Our Top Candidate will bring at least one year of previous, verifiable experience as an optometric technician or medical assistance with a focus on direct patient care.
