Job summary

Katzen Eye Group is seeking a patient-focused Optometric Technician to join our Bel Air, MD office. Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in a work-up position within an optometric practice.
• Willingness to travel to other offices occasionally to meet business demands.
• Ability to walk and stand for eight hours continuously.
• Capability to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit setting.

Responsibilities

• Initial work up of patients, gathering ocular and systemic history.
• Performing external slit-lamp examinations and assisting with eye drops.
• Scribing in electronic medical records to document patient visits.
• Assisting with ensuring cleanliness of exam rooms and stocking supplies.

Job description

Katzen Eye Group is seeking a patient-focused Optometric Technician to join our Bel Air, MD office. This position has no late evenings, major holidays or Sundays, offers a robust benefits package, a team‑oriented environment, and clear career ladder opportunities. The technician will also float to our Lutherville, MD office as needed.

Responsibilities

• Initial work up of patients such as gathering chief complaint, ocular and systemic history, past family and social history and complete review of systems
• Measuring visual acuities, intraocular pressures, confrontational fields, EOMS, and more
• Performing external slit‑lamp examination and administering eye drops
• Scribing in electronic medical records to document the patient visit and examination
• Assisting with stocking supplies, ensuring cleanliness of patient exam rooms and other administrative or clinical duties as assigned

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in a work‑up position within an optometric practice
• Willingness to travel to other offices occasionally to meet business demands
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Well‑organized, team‑player with great attention to detail
• Superior computer skills
• High energy with a positive attitude
