Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by performing preliminary testing and measurements, prepping patients for exams, and learning to operate pretest equipment. No optical experience is required as training will be provided.

Some weekend and evening shifts are required to ensure patient care quality. Ideal candidates are personable, patient, and detail-oriented, with a willingness to learn and collaborate with the team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable, patient and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, product, and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on providing the best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document conditions, and chart medical history to prep for exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures during appointments.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctors and team to provide seamless patient experience.
