Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for on-site or remote exams, conduct pre-exam tests, and explain steps clearly. You will liaison between patients and Optometrists, supporting the patient journey from registration to post-exam handoff.

The role requires at least one year in optical/healthcare with strong customer service, organization, and communication skills. Training is provided, and flexibility to travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and submit Medical History and ocular data into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Assist remote patients through remote eye exam process including pre-testing and testing data in EMR.
• Transition patient to a retail associate after exam and convey doctor recommendations.
• Preauthorize insurance per standard procedures and manage exam scheduling with no-shows and cancellations.
• Maintain patient flow to support doctor effectiveness and triage ocular emergencies.
