Job summary

Visionworks of America seeks a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to prepare patients for onsite or remote exams, perform pre-exam tests, and explain each step of the process. You will liaise between patients and Optometrists and help guide the patient journey from registration through testing.

The role requires at least one year of related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and comfort with EMR systems. Some travel between locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of related experience in optical/healthcare settings.
• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with EMR systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and input medical history into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations.
• Explain preliminary testing process to patients and document results in EMR.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and telehealth steps.
• Coordinate appointments and maintain patient flow per guidelines.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and dispense lenses as needed.
• Ensure a clean, safe clinical environment and equipment maintenance.
