Avegant is seeking an Opto-Mechanical Engineer to design packaging and mechanisms for advanced near-eye display optics. The role requires 2–6 years of experience in a design and production environment and reports to the VP of Opto-Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/optical engineering or related field.
• 2–6 years of experience in design and manufacturing of optical systems for consumer electronics.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Familiarity with optical design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design opto-mechanical components and mechanisms to enclose and align optical elements within system specifications.
• Select materials and processes based on tolerance, temperature, and assembly requirements.
• Collaborate with optical engineers to meet performance targets.
• Support operations as a technical resource on optics issues.
• Assist with production ramp-ups and engineering builds.
