Job summary

Aeva, Inc. in Mountain View seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design optoelectronic products and shepherd them from concept to final builds. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop new devices, perform tolerance analyses, and support manufacturing for mass production.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of related experience in mechanical design for prototype to production, including assembly of optoelectronic devices and precision alignment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
• Detail design, development and validation of mechanical assemblies.
• Tolerance stack analysis for complex optoelectronic devices.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for optoelectronic devices (die attach, wirebond, active alignment, hermetic sealing).

Responsibilities

• Develop new products from concept through production and builds.
• Design optoelectronic devices and integrate mechanical, optical, and electrical components.
• Lead reviews of mechanical development activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support manufacturing of parts and products.
• Maintain, design, test, and improve existing products.
