Job summary

Butler America Aerospace, LLC. in Richardson, TX is seeking a dedicated CNC Technician for first shift to set up and operate Diamond Turning Lathes and Fly Cutters, reading optical specifications and GD&T, ensuring safety and quality.

You will collaborate with engineering and other technicians in a low-volume, high-mix environment. You will read interferograms and CMM reports, operate CNC and manual equipment, inspect optics, and maintain a clean, safe work area while standing most of the shift.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; technical education in related discipline preferred.
• 1 year of relevant CNC shop experience.
• Experience with basic CNC programming.
• U.S. citizenship is required to access information.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture precision optics using Diamond Turning Lathes and/or Fly Cutters.
• Read and interpret optical component drawings with GD&T.
• Read interferograms, CMM reports, and metrology data.
• Set up and operate CNC and manual equipment for optics manufacturing.
• Inspect optics with interferometers and coordinate measuring machines.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and other technicians.
• Follow EH&S rules and keep the work area clean and orderly.
• Stand 80-90% of shift, walk 10-20%, bend 20%, lift ~15 lb.
