Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an Optician for the Truhlsen Eye Institute (TEI). The role supports the optical shop, handling prescriptions, merchandise, and customer interactions in a Monday–Friday 8A–5P schedule. Join a team dedicated to delivering extraordinary patient care.

Two years of retail optical experience and a high school diploma are required, with knowledge of contact lens fitting and dispensing. ABO certification is a plus. Education support is available.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in the retail optical industry.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Working knowledge of contact lens fitting and optical eyeglass dispensing.
• Superior customer service skills required.
• Demonstrated sales and marketing ability required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the optical shop manager with servicing customers in the store.
• Order supplies and manage inventory.
• Merchandise the store and fill prescriptions.
• Provide final inspection of products and deliver products to customers.
• Submit customer billing and insurance filing; follow-up care.
