Job summary

Cass Health in Atlantic, IA is seeking an Optician to help patients select, order, and fit eyewear prescribed by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist, delivering exceptional education and support to help achieve their best possible vision.

You will measure frames and lenses, interpret prescriptions, order eyewear and accessories, dispense eyewear, perform adjustments, educate patients on care, maintain records, assist with inventory, and collaborate with providers for a seamless patient experience.

Qualifications

• Optician's License through the ABO
• Two years of experience as an Optician
• Customer-focused and detail-oriented

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyeglass frames, lenses, and optical products that best meet their vision needs, lifestyle, and preferences.
• Interpret prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists to ensure accurate eyewear orders.
• Measure patients for proper frame and lens fitting, including adjustments for comfort and optimal vision.
• Order eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical aids accurately and efficiently.
• Dispense and fit eyewear according to prescribed specifications.
• Perform frame adjustments, minor repairs, and troubleshooting to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Educate patients on proper use, care, and maintenance of eyewear and optical devices.
• Maintain accurate patient and order records within applicable systems.
• Assist with inventory management, frame displays, and optical merchandise organization.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while building positive relationships with patients and team members.
• Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.

What You'll Do

As an Optician, you will help patients select, order, and properly fit eyewear and other optical products prescribed by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist. You will play an important role in ensuring patients receive exceptional service, education, and support while helping them achieve their best possible vision.

In this role, you will:

• Assist patients in selecting eyeglass frames, lenses, and optical products that best meet their vision needs, lifestyle, and preferences.
• Interpret prescriptions from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists to ensure accurate eyewear orders.

Preferred Education

Preferred Licenses & Certifications
