Job summary

Shopko Optical in Owatonna, MN, is hiring a Full-time Optician. You will help patients select, order and dispense eyewear, perform pre-screening and process billing information while maintaining accurate frame inventory.

On-the-job training is provided; no experience required. The team emphasizes patient care, excellent service, and collaborative work with the Optical Lab and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Maintain license as required by State.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Shopko OCE Certification requirements.
• Previous experience in an office and/or optical dispensing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer and patient service according to company and Optical Center standards.
• Analyze patient eyewear needs.
• Recommend specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to satisfy patient needs.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color; ensure frames are coordinated with measurements and prescriptions.
• Order and dispense eyewear accurately and professionally.
• Assist patients with frame repairs and adjustments.
• Show patients how to insert, remove and care for contact lenses.
• Assist Optometrist with case histories and screenings.
