AEG Vision in Latrobe, PA is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and outstanding patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit prescription, lifestyle, and personal style, ensure proper fit, take measurements, and dispense accurately.

You will work closely with technicians and managers, stay current on product offerings and insurance details, handle orders from start to finish, and deliver an exceptional in-store experience that builds trust

Formación

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.

Responsabilidades

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient. Provides patients with a complete understanding of our customized recommendations for products and services.
• Receive patient handoff from technicians or doctors and establish rapport by asking lifestyle questions to identify visual needs and recommend frames, lenses, and accessories.
• Keeps current on company/industry products and procedures, manufacturer rebates, and types of lenses and frames available.
• Takes and returns patient calls, updating patients on order status and resolving issues; escalates issues to management.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lens type, and lens treatments including tints and coatings; based on patient needs and facial measurements.
• Educate patients on eyeglass and contact lens care, warranty coverage, protection plans and replacement options.
• Understand insurance plans, including eligibility, benefits, copays, deductibles, authorizations, and coverage limitations.
• Interprets prescriptions written by Optometrists and Ophthalmologists; enter data into EHR/ALE; ensure documentation is attached to patient chart.
• Follow-up on pending orders and inform patients of delays; notify when eyewear is ready.
• Dispense glasses after checking fit and comfort; perform adjustments as needed.
• Proficient in using tools for eyewear adjustments and repairs; communicate with technicians and managers about status.
• Inspect final product for flaws; clean and polish lenses; maintain cleanliness of practice areas.
• Explain product issues and answer questions about insurance, warranty, pricing, and promotions.
