Optician - Day Shift, Full Benefits, Training Provided

EyeCare Partners, the nation’s leading provider of clinically integrated eye care, is seeking an Optician for our Grand Rapids, MI location. Our network includes over 300 ophthalmologists and 700 optometrists across 18 states and 80 markets, dedicated to enhancing vision and improving lives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and computer skills, providing exceptional client service and creating a positive first impression for patients.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in the care, treatment, and education of optometry patients.
• Interpret prescriptions and help patients select appropriate eyewear, consulting with prescribing physicians as needed.
• Take optical measurements for eyewear preparation.
• Present products that meet the patient’s comfort, fashion, and lifestyle needs.
• Verify product availability and processing times for on-time delivery.
• Order eyewear from the laboratory based on prescriptions and patient preferences.
• Verify eyewear for accuracy before delivery.
• Adjust and dispense eyewear, explaining proper usage and cleaning instructions.
• Answer patient questions during visits and via phone, providing advice and resolving issues in consultation with optometrists and ophthalmologists.

Education & Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• ABO certification preferred but not required.

Skills

• 1-3 years of optical experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
• Well-organized team player with attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, plan, and execute effectively.
• Patient-friendly, motivated, and dependable.
