Job summary

Con Edison seeks an Optical Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain mission-critical optical networks across DWDM and related transport systems. You will develop engineering plans, BOMs, specs, and schedules for deployment, perform testing and commissioning, and support critical infrastructure across service territories.

Qualifications

• Bachelors with IT/telecom discipline and 3+ years of IT/telecom experience.
• Engineering-focused documentation and standards experience.
• Strong knowledge of DWDM, SONET, TDM, MPLS, and related tech.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement DWDM and optical transport networks.
• Develop plans, BOMs, specs, and project schedules for builds and migrations.
• Perform testing, commissioning, and fault isolation across transport systems.
• Travel to Con Edison and O&R sites for deployment and restoration activities.
