Job summary

Con Edison is seeking an Optical Network Engineer for the Corporate Communications Transmission Network (CCTN). You will design, implement, operate, and maintain mission-critical optical networks supporting energy control centers, substations, data centers, and corporate facilities.

The role focuses on DWDM, OT/SCADA, and secure, reliable connectivity across service territories. You will develop architectures, plans, and procedures, while guiding vendor contractors and ensuring documentation

Qualifications

• DWDM design, deployment, and lifecycle management experience.
• Strong knowledge of SONET/TDM, Ethernet, MPLS, DWDM.
• Experience with optical test equipment and network validation.

Responsibilities

• Design DWDM networks and optical transport architectures.
• Create scopes of work, BOMs, specs, and project schedules.
• Develop MOPs for implementation, migrations, and restoration.
• Operate and troubleshoot DWDM network elements and OT/SCADA links.
• Coordinate vendors and ensure as-built documentation.
• Travel across service territories for现场 support.
