Hours
  • Full Time
  • Open Monday-Friday 8am-7pm, Saturday 8am-1pm (flexible shifts within these hours)

Essential Functions
  • Promote frames and lenses per doctor recommendations
  • Adjust and repair glasses
  • Assist with patient flow
  • Verify insurances
  • Communicate effectively with patients and staff
  • Handle inquiries via phone, email, and in person
Job Summary

The Optical Technician provides a world-class patient experience, supporting medical and retail needs by dispensing and fitting glasses and contacts based on prescriptions. They connect patient needs with available products and services.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build relationships through excellent patient support
  • Assist patients with frame selection and measurements
  • Operate optical equipment such as lensometers
  • Educate patients on lenses, coatings, and frames
  • Accurately measure and dispense glasses and contacts
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Follow safety and inventory protocols
  • Support practice goals with initiative and teamwork
Patient Population Served

Education, Licensure & Certification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Associates or Bachelor’s in Business or Healthcare Management
  • Preferred: ABO and NCLE certifications
Experience Requirements
  • Previous medical or ophthalmic experience preferred
  • 1+ year customer/patient interaction experience or equivalent
  • Background check clearance

Physical Demands

Includes standing, walking, lifting, reaching, and using hands/eyes for detailed work, with specified percentages and weight limits.

Work Environment

Normal office/clinical setting with potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and cleaning supplies. Use of PPE required.
