Hours
- Full Time
- Office hours are Monday-Friday 8am-7pm, Saturday 8am-1pm. Flexibility to work any shift within these hours is required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Favorable background check
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service skills

Essential Functions
- Promote frames and lenses as recommended by the doctor
- Adjust and repair glasses
- Manage patient flow
- Verify insurances
- Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and staff
- Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in person
Job Summary
An Optical Technician provides a world-class patient experience by supporting medical and retail needs, dispensing glasses and contacts, and connecting patient needs to products and services.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with patients and deliver excellent medical support
- Assist in frame selection and measurements
- Operate lensometry equipment
- Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames
- Accurately take measurements like pupillary distance and eye size
- Dispense and repair glasses and contact lenses
- Create a welcoming environment for patients
- Maintain organized and clean work areas
- Follow protocols for inventory and safety
- Support practice goals and team environment
- Be flexible with work hours, including weekends and schedule changes
Patient Population
Work with patients of all ages, races, and genders.
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- ABO and NCLE certifications are a plus
Experience
- Previous medical or ophthalmic experience preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer interaction experience
- Background check clearance
- Proof of identity and right to work in the U.S.
