Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in Festus, MO seeks an Optical Technician to dispense and fit glasses and contacts based on prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists. You will connect patients’ needs to available eyewear and services, contributing to a superior Total Patient Experience.

Qualifications

• Communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• HIPAA compliance as described in company policies.
• Background check clearance as required by state.
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute Total Patient Experience to build relationships with patients.
• Determine patients’ wants and needs and assist in selecting frames.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames.
• Dispense glasses and contact lens orders and maintain inventory.
• Maintain clean, organized eyewear displays and assist with other duties as needed.
