Job summary

Clarkson Eyecare in High Ridge, MO seeks an Optical Technician (Optician) to dispense glasses and contacts from ophthalmic prescriptions. You will help patients select frames, measure facial and eye dimensions, and ensure compliance with policies while delivering a world-class Total Patient Experience.

The role requires strong communication, basic math, and experience with lensometry; ABO/ABOC/NCLE certifications are preferred but not required. Full-time hours with benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients.
• ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Dispense glasses and contacts from prescriptions.
• Assist patients in frame selection by style and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames to suit patient needs.
• Maintain organized, clean, and fully stocked work areas.
• Process patient orders in E360 and follow policies.
• General office duties and other tasks as assigned by manager.
