Job summary

PsiQuantum seeks a Senior System Integration & Optical Validation Engineer to lead integration, IV&V, and deployment readiness of complex photonic quantum computing systems. You will define test strategies, build validation roadmaps, and drive cross-functional problem solving across Optical, Quantum, Electronics, Controls, and Test Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or related field with 5+ years of experience, or BS with 10+ years.
• Extensive experience integrating, validating, and deploying complex optical, photonic, or electro-optical systems and lab instrumentation.
• Expertise developing system-level test strategies, verification methodologies, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong understanding of optical technologies including lasers, fiber optics, photonic components and measurement techniques.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot multidisciplinary optical systems using quantitative data analysis and DOE.
• Experience with automation and software for automated test, instrumentation control using Python.
• Experience with cryogenic systems or quantum technologies is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integration, bring-up, verification, and validation of photonic quantum computing subsystems.
• Define system-level integration and test strategies and design experiments to verify functionality and performance.
• Develop acceptance criteria, verification methodologies, and validation roadmaps for deployments.
• Drive root-cause investigations with data-driven analysis across multiple engineering teams.
• Own development and improvement of test infrastructure, automation, and documentation.
• Lead system installation, integration, bring-up, and operational readiness activities.
• Provide technical leadership and influence system architecture for testability and reliability.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technicians while fostering collaboration.
