Job summary

PsiQuantum seeks a Senior System Integration & Optical Validation Engineer in Milpitas, CA to lead integration, IV&V, and deployment readiness of complex photonic quantum systems.

You will define system-level test strategies, drive DOE-based analyses, and collaborate across Optical, Quantum, Electronics, and Controls teams. The role emphasizes automation, scalable validation, and hands-on lab work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Photonics or related field; 5+ years of industry experience.
• Experience integrating, validating, and deploying complex optical/photonics systems with laboratory instrumentation.
• Strong ability to develop system-level test strategies, verification methodologies, and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of lasers, fiber optics, photonic components and optical instrumentation.
• Experience with Python programming, DOE, and statistical data analysis.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration, bring-up, verification, and validation of photonic, optical, electro-optical, and electronic subsystems.
• Define system-level integration and test strategies; design experiments to verify functionality and readiness.
• Develop acceptance criteria, verification methodologies, and validation roadmaps for deployment.
• Drive root-cause investigations using structured experimental methods and data analysis.
• Own development and improvement of test infrastructure, automation, and lab instrumentation.
• Oversee system installation, integration, bring-up, and training of engineering and operations staff.
• Provide technical leadership to establish best practices and influence system architecture.
• Mentor engineers and technicians, promoting engineering excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
