Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a Senior Director to define the organizational structure and strategy for Optical Packaging Technology Development within the Integrated Optics group, and to build a leadership team that sets the technical and operational direction for GF's IO portfolio from Burlington, VT.

The role requires driving packaging, optics, and product engineering roadmaps, while collaborating across a matrixed, multi-site global organization to ensure co-design alignment and external

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in semiconductor or photonics packaging.
• Proven track record building or scaling a technical organization.
• Deep expertise in advanced packaging and/or optical packaging.
• Experience managing OSAT partner relationships.
• Strong executive presence and cross-site collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for Optical Packaging Technology Development.
• Lead packaging design and assembly architecture decisions for optical modules.
• Drive yield enhancement programs using SPC and root-cause analysis.
• Oversee Packaging Qualification & Reliability strategy and tests.
• Collaborate with test engineering on strategy and qualification requirements.
• Set requirements and oversee external assembly/test partners.
• Evaluate advanced packaging and optical integration technologies for roadmaps.
• Partner with Silicon Products Development for co-design alignment.
