Job summary

Molex, a leading global supplier in optical networking, seeks a Network Engineer in Fremont, CA to design, deploy and optimize high-capacity optical transport networks. You will drive reliability, scalability, and performance for customers and internal systems through hands-on deployments and proactive maintenance.

The role emphasizes planning, migration, troubleshooting, and close coordination with NOC, field techs, and vendors. Familiarity with DWDM, ROADM, and automation is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• At least 5 years of live network deployment, migration and operations experience.
• Hands-on experience deploying and migrating optical networks.
• Experience with optical network design, installation and maintenance for service providers or enterprise networks.
• Experience with optical transport systems and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Support build activities in large-scale optical networks spanning long-haul and regional metros.
• Plan and perform complex optical deployments and migrations; provisioning new circuits or services.
• Collaborate with NOC, field technicians, vendors, and engineering teams to resolve faults and perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain standards for builds and design packages for metro, regional, and long-haul DWDM systems.
• Update network documentation including fiber routes and equipment inventory.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to network emergencies.
