Job summary

Molex in Fremont is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to develop high-performance embedded software for optical network modules. You’ll work with cross-functional teams across hardware, optical, and software to deliver scalable firmware solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in C for embedded systems, experience with FreeRTOS, and familiarity with I2C/SPI/UART. A BS in CS/EE is required, with strong debugging skills and a passion for telecom hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in C programming for embedded systems
• Experience in network or telecommunications industry
• Proficient in bare-metal development on embedded microcontrollers
• Solid experience with FreeRTOS or equivalent real-time operating systems
• Familiar with I2C, SPI, UART
• Hands-on debugging with JTAG/SWD debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers

Responsibilities

• Develop robust, high-performance embedded software throughout the SDLC (design, implement, test)
• Document solutions with docs, flowcharts, diagrams and clear code comments
• Engage with hardware, optical, and system engineering teams; present technical input
• Interface with customers for RFQ/RFP responses and pre/post sale support
• Collaborate with third-party/open-source software projects and attend relevant conferences
• Identify, analyze, and resolve firmware issues across the product lifecycle
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management
