Job summary

North Wind Group in Livermore, CA is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support the National Ignition Facility (NIF). The role involves assembling, testing, and inspecting mechanical subassemblies and optics while adhering to safety protocols.

Candidates must have an A.S. in Optical or Mechanical technologies, be effective communicators, and able to work in a team environment. This position may require flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

• Ability to assemble, disassemble, and test mechanical subassemblies.
• Experience handling large and valuable laser optics.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and manage large optics for the NIF.
• Support a 24/7 operational facility and may require flexible schedule.
