Job summary

North Wind Services (NWS) is seeking an Engineering Technician V – Mechanical Utilities Maintenance to support the National Ignition Facility (NIF) at LLNL in Livermore, CA. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, operation, and modification of complex NIF facility and utility systems, including air and pressurized gas systems.

Qualifications

• A.A in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Demonstrated physical hands-on experience with facilities installation, operations, maintenance, and repair.
• Knowledge of analytical tools for simulating facility and utility systems.
• Proficient in use of tools for installation, testing and repair of facility and utility systems, including specialty air systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical installation of typical or non-typical equipment per layouts and safety codes.
• Ensure as-built configuration matches drawings/diagrams.
• Plan inspections, preventive maintenance, and installation projects; review designs for conformance to codes.
