Qualifications

• Completion of 2 or more years of college.
• 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience.
• 2 years' general work experience, including 1 year's optical experience.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire to sit for ABO exam.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months.
• In licensed states, obtain state licensure within 18 months.
• Maintain NPI number and active state licensure.
• Register and maintain Optician in Charge status.

Responsibilities

• Lead optical department sales growth through merchandising, pricing accuracy, inventory oversight, and seasonal execution.
• Forecast sales trends and align product assortments with member needs and local patterns.
• Monitor pricing and adjust strategies to achieve targets.
• Lead the optical team through hiring, training, and performance management.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation.
• Oversee eyewear measurements, fittings, and contact lens education.
• Coordinate with labs, suppliers, and optometrists regarding status and updates.
• Manage appointment scheduling workflows and payment collection for services.
• Promote optical technologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
