Job summary

Cyient DLM Electronics Inc is seeking an Optical Inspection Operator in Torrington, CT. The role focuses on automated optical inspection of PCB assemblies, ensuring workmanship according to IPC-A-610 and internal standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Soldering experience or training preferred.
• J-STD or IPC-A-610 certification required, or completion within timeline.

Responsibilities

• Review AOI inspections for accurate detection of SMT paste, placement, and solder defects.
• Inspect populated PCBs using magnification/stereo microscopes per IPC-A-610.
• Identify process or component problems and communicate to machine operator for correction.
• Participate in quality initiatives, problem solving, and process improvements.
• Follow company guidelines and ensure product quality per work instructions and standards.
• Ensure safety rules and 6S adherence.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections on PCB assemblies and finished products.
• Verify conformance to IPC/J-STD standards and internal quality criteria.
• Identify and segregate nonconforming materials.
• Complete daily inspection reports with acceptance/rejection rates.
• Support supervisors in resolving quality problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Inspector: AOI at CyientDLM Electronics Inc

Includesthefollowing,otherdutiesmaybeassigned:

• Review AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement and solder joint defects.
• Using magnification aids and stereo-microscopes, inspect populated printed circuit boards and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards.
• Recognize problems in the operation process or with components and communicate those problems to machine operator for immediate correction.
• Actively participates in quality initiatives by participating in problem solving, process improvements and performance measurements.
• Responsible for understanding & following company, and or manufacturing guidelines/procedures
• Responsible for product quality as defined by internal and external customers, work instructions, specifications and procedures.
• Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S
• Conduct in process and final inspections on PCB assemblies, sub-assemblies, and finished products
• Ensure that the product conforms to work instructions, IPC or J-STD standards, and internal quality/workmanship standards
• Identify and segregate nonconforming materials
• Complete daily inspection report denoting the acceptance and/or rejection rate all items in accordance with the standards defined within job traveler
• Supports supervisors and/or operators in the resolution of quality problems
