Job summary

Cyient DLM Electronics Inc is hiring an Optical Inspection Operator to inspect PCB parts and assemblies to IPC-A-610 / J-STD workmanship standards and our internal quality rules. You will review AOI results, use magnification and stereo microscopes to identify misplacements and solder defects on populated boards, and report issues for immediate correction.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, soldering experience, and J-Std or IPC-A-610 certification or plan to achieve

Qualifications

• Must have good eyesight and steady hand–eye coordination.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and read assembly documentation.
• IPC–A–610 / J–STD certifications or plan to obtain within a defined timeline.

Responsibilities

• Review AOI inspection for accurate detection of SMT paste, component placement and solder defects.
• Using magnification aids and stereo-microscopes, inspect populated PCBs and identify misplacements and solder defects to IPC–A–610 standards.
• Identify problems in the operation process or with components and communicate those problems to the machine operator for immediate correction.
• Participate in quality initiatives by solving problems and improving processes and performance.
• Ensure product quality per internal and external requirements and follow safety and 6S rules.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections on PCB assemblies, sub-assemblies, and finished products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Inspector: AOI at CyientDLM Electronics Inc

• Review AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement and solder joint defects.
• Using magnification aids and stereo-microscopes, inspect populated printed circuit boards and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards.
• Recognize problems in the operation process or with components and communicate those problems to machine operator for immediate correction.
• Actively participates in quality initiatives by participating in problem solving, process improvements and performance measurements.
• Responsible for understanding & following company, and or manufacturing guidelines/procedures
• Responsible for product quality as defined by internal and external customers, work instructions, specifications and procedures.
• Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S
• Conduct in process and final inspections on PCB assemblies, sub-assemblies, and finished products
• Ensure that the product conforms to work instructions, IPC or J-STD standards, and internal quality/workmanship standards
• Identify and segregate nonconforming materials
• Complete daily inspection report denoting the acceptance and/or rejection rate all items in accordance with the standards defined within job traveler
• Supports supervisors and/or operators in the resolution of quality problems

Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Standing for up to 8 hours a day.
