Job summary

VisionWorks in New York is seeking an Optical Retail Assistant to help customers select frames and lenses, interpret prescriptions, and guide them through available optical services.

You will collaborate with the lab and the optometrist to ensure prescription accuracy and high-quality eyewear, while maintaining a clean dispensing area and accurate pricing. The role requires a NY apprentice permit, a HS diploma, and 1–3 months of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a current New York or Massachusetts Apprentice permit.
• 1–3 months of related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in frame and lens selection.
• Provide accurate information on frames, lens selections and services.
• Communicate with lab and optometrist to ensure prescription accuracy.
• Maintain dispensing area and ensure correct patient pricing.
• Adhere to HIPAA and company policies.
• Participate in required training and maintain professional requirements.
