Job summary

Walmart Sam’s Club Portage is seeking an Optical Associate to lead the optical department, manage eyewear measurements, and coach the team to deliver excellent customer service. You will oversee fittings, align product assortments with local demographics, and ensure HIPAA compliance while supporting doctor services as required.

The role includes engaging with members, coordinating with labs and suppliers, and promoting optical technologies to improve accuracy and experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years of college, or 1 year retail plus 1 year supervisory experience, or 2 years general work including 1 year optical experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; ABO certification within 18 months of hire when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Leads department sales growth through merchandising, pricing accuracy, inventory oversight, and seasonal execution.
• Forecasts sales trends and aligns product assortments with member needs and local demographics.
• Leads eyewear and contact lens consultations under optometric supervision and ensures accurate measurements and fittings.
