Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a customer-facing engineer for Photonics Connectivity Solutions. You will engage named accounts, understand product specs, support on-site trials, and assist with customer adoption in data-center environments.

Role requires a BS in Engineering or Applied Science, 5+ years in optical fiber/components, and strong communication and presentation skills. Master’s degree preferred; travel and on-site collaboration with global teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science required.
• Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with optical fiber/components and data center connectivity.
• Customer engagement at Architecture, Engineering and Lab Technician levels in data centers/enterprise environments.
• Understanding of data center network topologies and high-density rack connectivity.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of Corning’s optical communications products, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
• Support on-site field trials and customer product evaluations.
• Provide training, troubleshooting and field support for customer adoption.
• Lead on-site investigations of product issues raised by customers.
• Provide front-line support for customer inquiries, coordinating with engineering as needed.
• Collaborate with global account and regional leaders to build customer relationships and gather market intelligence.
• Analyze and report product performance, reliability, and yields; develop new methodologies.
