Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Optical Associate in Rock Hill, SC to maintain merchandise presentation, assist members with eyewear purchases, and support OD services. The role includes measuring pupillary distance, performing frame adjustments, and processing eyewear orders in a busy retail optical setting.

In addition to hands-on dispensing duties, you will help manage insurance claims, comply with HIPAA, and participate in ongoing training to obtain licensure within state requirements.

Qualifications

• ABO certification required with continuing education maintained.
• Licensed/registered as an apprentice optician and licensed optician per state rules.
• Must obtain state-required licensure within 18 months; register and maintain NPI number as required.

Responsibilities

• Stock, display, sign, price, and secure eyewear and related products on the sales floor.
• Assist members with eyewear selection, measurement, and repairs; process orders and payments.
• Schedule patient appointments, pre-test, document results, and support OD services as applicable.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate insurance claim processing for eye care materials.
