Job summary

Walmart Optical is seeking an Optical Associate to stock and present merchandise, assist customers with eyewear decisions, and process prescriptions and payments on the sales floor of the Optical area.

Responsibilities include measuring pupillary distances, performing frame adjustments, and coordinating with labs and optometrists. Requires ABO certification pathway and state licensure readiness; benefits and hourly pay are provided by Walmart.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• ABO certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Must meet state licensure requirements to become an apprentice and licensed optician.

Responsibilities

• Stock, sign, price, and display Optical products; handle damaged goods and shrink in the Optical area.
• Assist members with eyewear decisions, measurements, adjustments, and repairs; process orders and verify prescriptions.
• Operate POS system; collect payments for doctor/telehealth services and schedule appointments in compliance with HIPAA.
