AEG Vision is hiring an Optical Consultant to support patient care alongside Optometrists. You will perform pre-exam evaluations, conduct patient interviews, and help manage referrals and documentation.

Responsibilities include handling diagnostic tests, maintaining EHRs, and assisting with scheduling and clerical tasks. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and excellent communication within a fast-paced eye care practice.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• Strong attention to details and ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Windows, and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary evaluations before the exam (dilation, topical meds, diagnostic tests).
• Conduct patient interviews prior to visit to inform the Optometrist.
• Schedule referrals and manage paperwork as needed.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Assist with clerical duties related to medical documentation and billing codes.
• Perform diagnostic testing with specialized equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Assist with scribe duties or refractions as needed.
• Contribute to end-of-day wrap-up and office organization.
