Job summary

Walmart in Odessa, TX is hiring an Optical Associate responsible for stocking, merchandising, and handling member purchases in the Optical area. You will educate members on eyewear care, assist with measurements, and process eyewear orders and payments.

The role requires ABO readiness and adherence to HIPAA and company policies. This position offers on-site work with comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for certification and professional growth within Walmart's Opticianry

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; ability to sit for ABO exam within 12 months.
ABO certification within 15 months of hire or job entry is required.
State licensure/apprenticeship requirements must be met within specified time frames.
Experience in optical retail and customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

Stock, display, sign, and price merchandise in the Optical area; manage inventory and losses.
Process member purchases, returns, and payments using the POS system.
Educate members on eyewear usage, assist with measurements, fittings, and lens orders.
Perform frame adjustments, repairs, and final inspection of eyewear before dispensing.
Coordinate with labs and optometrists on orders and product updates.
