IPG Photonics' Marlborough, MA site seeks a skilled assembler for precision opto-mechanical and optical sub-assemblies. You will inspect, serialize, and test optics to ensure compliance with defined standards, and support documentation and ERP workflow.

This role emphasizes neat, accurate work, independent initiative, and clear communication with engineers and supervisors. Candidates should have technical school training or equivalent experience and proven ability to use optical measurement

Qualifications

• Technical school graduate or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with optical measurement tools, gauges and meters.
• Craftsman level with assembly hand tools and light power tools.
• Neat, accurate and consistent work.
• Works well independently and takes responsibility for own work.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to retain information.
• Good communication skills to convey information to associates and supervisors.
• Knows when to seek guidance from superiors and follow chain of command.

Responsibilities

• Assemble precision opto-mechanical and optical sub-assemblies.
• Inspect and serialize incoming and outgoing optics.
• Test optical assemblies to ensure compliance to defined standards.
• Support Precision Assembly when capacity is insufficient.
• Assist in generating new product or sub-assembly documentation and work instructions.
• Provide feedback to engineering regarding errors or omissions in documentation.
• Dispose of obsolete documentation when job is complete.
• Assist in ERP work order paperwork for proper processing and costing.
