Job summary

SAMTEC, Inc in the United States seeks an Applications & Technical Product Support Engineer (Optics) to collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams on optical transceiver solutions. You will support ML, medical, military, aerospace, and other advanced applications with a strong emphasis on problem solving and customer engagement.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a technical field and 3+ years in optical modules or applications engineering, with willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 3+ years in optical module engineering or related roles.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• US citizen or resident for ITAR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop in-depth expertise in Samtec optical products, including FireFly modules, and translate customer needs into solutions.
• Provide hands-on design-in support through lab characterization, measurements, and system-level debugging.
• Apply industry protocols to position Samtec solutions and meet performance goals.
• Collaborate with sales, field FAEs, engineering, and marketing to accelerate adoption.
• Create clear technical documentation and deliver product training to teams and customers.
• Represent Samtec on-site at events and travel as needed.
