Job description

Principal Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of operations staff and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Oversee inventory compliance, supply maintenance, and proper availability of required materials.
• Coordinate with vendors, transporters, and treatment facilities to support smooth plant operations.
• Maintain housekeeping standards across all waste handling and processing areas, including proper storage and handling of process chemicals.
• Manage off-loading activities for incoming materials received into the facility’s storage and waste processing systems.
• Ensure safe and effective waste treatment by coordinating waste sampling, analysis, and treatment simulations for inbound truck samples.
• Make operational decisions based on waste profile information, facility permit requirements, and approved procedures.
• Approve batch clearance for effluent filtration and treatment progression.
• Collect post-treatment waste samples to confirm suitability for final disposal or further processing.
• Inform relevant facility personnel about maintenance needs for plant systems, processing equipment, and transportation assets.
• Review and sign RCRA manifests in line with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all team members follow safety rules, procedures, and compliance standards at all times.
• Train facility personnel on waste processing procedures and operational requirements.
• Participate directly in emergency response activities related to on-site facility operations and transportation-related incidents involving facility equipment or personnel.
• Directly supervise two or more assigned employees and manage supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and applicable laws.
• Handle employee-related responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, training, work planning, task assignment, performance evaluation, rewards, disciplinary action, complaint handling, and issue resolution.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of personnel management, plant operations, equipment, waste processing, and recycling techniques.
• Understanding of receiving processes, purchasing, work orders, special licences, and DOT training requirements.
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness in work execution.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, stay focused, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste management.
