Overview

Tallahassee State College (TSC) is a top‑ranked community college dedicated to high‑quality education. We are seeking a part‑time OPS Supervising Dentist to lead the Dental Hygiene Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Dental Hygiene Clinic during all sessions, ensuring a dentist presence on the floor from start to finish.
• Evaluate patient histories and refer to medical or community health centers as needed.
• Provide consultations and diagnosis for systemic complications, and document recommendations.
• Administer local anesthesia until students complete the Local Anesthesia Practicum (DES2051 Pain Control).
• Screen patients, prioritize needs, and provide written prescriptions for pre‑ and post‑procedure medications, radiographs, fissure sealants, and chemotherapeutic agents.
• Conduct oral cancer exams and manage suspicious lesions with differential diagnoses.
• Review and sign the “Patient Daily Record Review” at the end of each appointment, addressing discrepancies with students or instructors.
• Interpret all dental x‑rays and provide quality control for operative techniques and x‑ray machine functioning.
• Assist students with panoramic x‑ray exposures.

Work Schedule

Part‑time – 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.; days and hours may vary by semester.

Per Semester Contract
