Job summary

Rayonier is offering a summer internship to work with manufacturing supervisors in a wood products environment. You will gain hands-on experience in quality, workflow, inventory, and equipment processes, with weekend overtime. Begins late May through early August for 10–12 weeks.

Housing assistance may be available, plus a three-installment $3,000 housing allowance and safety boot reimbursement. The hourly rates vary by class: Sophomore $20, Junior $22, Senior $24, Grad $25, with overtime

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Completion of two years of college required.
• Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Internet Research.
• Must be responsible, dependable, and safety conscious.
• Must possess excellent multitasking, planning, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisors in providing information and training for crew on equipment and processes.
• Work with Supervisors in assessing crew needs and developing processes (coaching, mentoring, team building, etc.).
• Demonstrate a culture of safety and efficiency across crews.
• Assist supervisor in assigning tasks and following up to ensure daily completion.
• Support quality checks and identify cost savings and operational improvements.
