Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking an Operations Management Intern for the 2026 Summer Internship Program to gain hands-on experience in a lumber production environment.

You will rotate through departments, assist with production flow, scheduling, inventory, treating operations, and quality assurance while developing leadership and project skills. The program offers competitive pay, college course credit where applicable, and exposure to safety, policies, and real-world operational

Qualifications

• Must be a Sophomore and actively seeking a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Operations, Management, Business, Engineering, or related field with a GPA of 2.50 or greater.
• Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside supervisors and employees in various departments to understand daily production operations including production flow, scheduling, inventory accountability, treating operations, grading lumber, quality and more.
• Identify trends and make recommendations for improving plant processes and operations.
• Develop management skills while leading and motivating others.
• Understand and apply company policies, programs, regulations, and safety rules to support safety, quality, and production.
• Complete projects as assigned
