Job summary

Univar Solutions is seeking an Operations Manager to lead terminal operations in Houston, overseeing a team of Yard Specialists and Operations Coordinators. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration with the Transportation Branch Manager to serve customers.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in operations, OSHA/EPA knowledge, experience with ERP systems, and a strong supervisory background.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years experience in operations.
• Experience with governmental requirements for the chemical industry (OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT) preferred.
• Experience working in a chemical distribution facility.
• HazMat or HazWoper certification.
• Strong supervisory leadership and ability to motivate staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily safe, efficient, legal and economical operations at terminals and customer interactions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and complete required training and documentation.
• Support sales efforts while complying with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Implement and manage applicable health and safety programs.
• Conduct incident investigations and report root causes with corrective actions.
• Brief upper management on performance, cost and productivity trends.
