Job summary

The Yamato Transport U.S.A., Inc. Seattle office is seeking a Customs Entry Writer to prepare and submit import documentation for CBP. The role requires HTS classification, accurate entries, and timely communication with CBP and partners.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of customs entry writing experience, familiarity with ACE/ABI systems, and knowledge of USDA/FDA regulations. We offer competitive salary, full benefits, and full-time on-site work in Tukwila/Seattle area.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in customs entry writing.
• Working knowledge of HTS classification and entry procedures.
• Familiarity with ACE and ABI systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Customs Broker License is a plus, but not required.
• Strong knowledge in USDA and FDA process and procedure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate customs entries for import shipments.
• Classify goods using the HTSUS and ensure proper documentation.
• Communicate with CBP, carriers, freight forwarders, and clients.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve any customs-related issues.
• Maintain compliance with all U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agency regulations (USDA and FDA)

Job Description

The Customs Broker Entry Writer is responsible for preparing and processing import documentation required by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This role ensures accurate and timely submission of entries, classification of goods, and compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customs procedures, HTS classification, and international trade regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate customs entries for import shipments
• Classify goods using the HTSUS and ensure proper documentation
• Communicate with CBP, carriers, freight forwarders, and clients
• Monitor shipment status and resolve any customs-related issues
• Maintain compliance with all U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agency regulations (USDA and FDA)

Basic Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in customs entry writing (preferred)
