Job summary

Amazon is seeking an innovative Operations Engineer to root-cause and scale systemic challenges in First and Middle Mile operations across North America. You will lead projects with senior engineers, collaborate with internal and external teams, and deliver cost-effective solutions for sortation and distribution systems.

Expect 50–70% travel and potential relocation. You should have 4+ years in engineering roles, strong vendor management, and experience with automated material handling equipment

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level.
• Experience working with and managing third party vendors.
• Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing.
• Experience developing and implementing standards, policies and programs or equivalent.
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Responsibilities

• Coordinate solutions for sortation and transportation network via process design and site layout.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver cost-effective solutions on tight timelines.
• Manage multiple projects and negotiate with partners.
• Communicate vision, roadmap, and technical solutions effectively.
• Travel requirements: 50-70%
