Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company is seeking an Operations Engineering Intern to learn the manufacturing process, collect data, and develop process improvements on the plant floor.

You will work with technicians and salaried staff to manage projects from scope development to implementation and communicate outcomes clearly. Ideal candidates are engineering students with strong problem-solving skills who can operate in both office and plant settings while adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Rising sophomore, junior, or senior in engineering (Mech, Elec, Chem, or Ind preferred).
• Strong problem solving: define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions.
• Able to work in both office and plant environments with safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with plant technicians to identify process improvements.
• Coordinate activities of contractors and hourly technicians.
• Prepare standard reports and communicate results.
• Manage projects from scope to verification and implementation.
• Collect and analyze data to drive effective initiatives.
