Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company invites you to join our Operations Engineering internship for Summer 2027. You will work with plant technicians and engineers to collect data, learn manufacturing processes, and identify process improvements on the shop floor.

This on-site, 100% in-person internship includes project management, reporting, and collaboration with contractors and hourly staff. Applicants should be rising sophomores to seniors in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial engineering

Qualifications

• Rising sophomore to senior pursuing an engineering degree.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Willingness to work in both office and plant environments and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop process improvement areas and understand manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate activities of contractors, hourly technicians, and other resources.
• Prepare standard reports and documentation to communicate results.
• Manage projects holistically from scope development to verification.
• Collect, analyze, and utilize data to execute improvements.
