Lerch Bates is seeking a Director of Operations to lead a premier building enclosure consulting organization. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical consulting for owners, designers, and builders, driving performance, quality, and growth across the firm.

You will oversee operations, mentor staff, and steer business planning while spending about half your time on billable work such as building investigations, site assessments, and technical reviews, ensuring client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in civil/structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Minimum 8 years in engineering, architecture, building science, or related consulting fields.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership with staff management and business operations responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical consulting and project delivery across building enclosure projects.
• Direct operational performance across multiple offices including staffing, forecasting, and profitability.
• Mentor consultants and project managers to build high‑performing teams.
• Drive standardized processes, QA/QC, and knowledge sharing across offices.
• Partner with Market Development to identify strategic opportunities and grow client relationships.
