Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network seeks an ophthalmologist to join its established team in Cooperstown, NY, delivering comprehensive eye care within an 8-county integrated system.

Finalists must complete an accredited USA ophthalmology residency, hold or be eligible for a New York license, and be BC/BE. On-call duty is every fifth weekend; JP-1/H-1B visa sponsorship is available.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS required with USA ophthalmology residency completion.
• BC/BE board certification preferred.
• New York medical license or eligibility to obtain.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Join an established group of ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide comprehensive eye care.
• Support staff include ophthalmic technicians, LPNs and RNs; on-call every 5th weekend.
• Engage in outreach clinics limited to one location each; participate in referrals to tertiary centers.

• Salary Range: $433,000 - $525,000
• Sign-on Bonus: up to $100,000
• Location: Cooperstown, NY
• Residency/Fellowship Stipend: Up to $40,000

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Join an established group of 5 Ophthalmologists and 3 Optometrists
• Current need is for a general ophthalmologist who can provide comprehensive eye care
• Current group has pediatric, retina and glaucoma specialists
• Support staff consists of ophthalmic technicians, LPN’s,and RN’s and are well trained
• On call is every 5th weekend, from Cooperstown, and rarely busy
• Outreach clinics are attended by all ophthalmologists but are limited to only one location each
• Referral patterns to tertiary care ophthalmologists are well established.
• Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region

Compensation

• Salary Range: $433,000 - $525,000 plus performance-based compensation.
• This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards
• Residency stipend up to $40,000 for up to 18 months prior to graduation
• Sign-on Bonus up to $100,000
• Bassett offers Physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment
