Job summary

The University of New Mexico’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences seeks a Medical Practice Specialist to strengthen clinical workflows, revenue integrity, and ModMed optimization across UNMMG and University Hospital. • High school diploma or GED plus 7 years of related experience.
• Degree(s) above minimum may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Experience improving revenue cycle, productivity, or clinical operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop ModMed workflows, templates, and processes to support operations.
• Monitor and improve charge capture, denials, and revenue integrity.
• Create productivity reports and reconcile physician data for accuracy.
• Support documentation, coding practices, and compliance.
• Educate faculty, staff, and clinicians on workflows and billing impact.
• Coordinate with departments and systems for standardized processes.
• Identify opportunities to reduce inefficiencies and improve care operations.
